In fact not only the first in New Zealand but Australasia, and one of only six in the world! Brewed on location at Founders Historic Park in Nelson, we make four styles of beer for the discerning drinker.
We have sourced the finest certified organic ingredients: hops grown exclusivley in Nelson, Pale malt from Canterbury and specialty malts from Germany.
These are crafted together with a history of over 150 years of Nelson Family Brewing to make these quality beers:

Long Black
Redhead
Long White
We also made our first certified organic cider - vintage 2000 - which proved popular. Now sold out.
Visitors are welcome to our brewery\cafe for tours - tastings - lunches etc. Open 7 days over summer.
To be certified organic is not our only aim, we try to operate our business so the effect we have on the environment is minimal. We bottle in resusable bottles, use minimum packaging, and recycle our waste to organic farmers, and have Nelsons first commercial worm farm.
Our beer is organic, sugar free, GE Free and tastes awesome!
