| Organic Growers Ltd. |
On behalf of the organic growers who pack their fruit at Eleos we have taken the initiative to start a new company: Organic Growers Ltd. This company is not a subsidary of Eleos and will be directed by a majority of grower directors. Summary of the objectives of the new company: 1. To become the preferred supplier in the international markets. 2. To create a network for supply on the New Zealand market. 3. To improve orchard practices, productivity and quality by: initiating and participating in research projects, and organising grower forums and meetings. 4. To integrate growing and (post) harvest services into a unique package. The services of the company will become available to the organic growers of Eleos and Trevelyans as the 2 main service providers for organic growers in TePuke. The company intends to sell organic fruit into Australia this year. We believe that this development is also of interest for non-organic growers as it takes us on a learning curve in respect of the future of the industry which undoubtedly will be deregulated (whether we like it or not). |
